Inspiration.....

I get most of my inspiration from movies and TV. Everytime I get out of an action packed sci fi movie, my brain goes into overload on a movie idea or concept. This also happens when I'm in a video store. I imagination goes into overdrive and I'm instantly in my own world. This is how I come up with some of those what if questions as stated in my blog below. In a since, the gallery is like the video store. Each movie that merits my attention is a painting or a piece of art. About a year and a half ago, I made a feeble attempt in making a sci fi animatic in Beth's N190. It was about a futuristic moon base that housed futuristic space fighters. I got my inspiration of that from the movie "wing commander". Yes I know that is a really cheasy movie, but it got my juices flowing. My animatic didn't turn out well due to me dealing with commuting from Columbus IN to Indy on a daily basis to get to school. But still, that movie inspired me. I can't really show a "thing" that inspires me. Any movie that merits my attention inspires me. I can't really put about 20 movie posters or movie clips on here. Here's one.....

What the bleep do we know.....huh?!!??

Ok, this movie was really weird. I knew it was about quantam machanics, but where was it going with the subject? From the childhood version of Morpheus from the matrix to Marlee Matlin going crazy at a wedding....total "huh"?! I know the movie is supposed to have artistic value...and it does. I was just in a state of "huh?" I'm not trying to bash the movie. I'm just expressing my opinion. It does see sideways though. It tries to express the theory of quantam mechanics in the sense of "seeing sideways". I have heard of this movie though. The only reason I heard of it is because I used to work at Hollywood Video. I remember this lady asking for the movie. I didn't know what it was about though. It was under the Special Interest section.

Bliss.....

Well, my bliss is just to veg out! lol. I love to lounge around my apartment and watch all the movie channels I have on my cable and veg out. I also go on the internet while I veg out. This might seem a little weird, but all I wear are my boxers...yes my boxers. I feel the most confortable in this state. When I get bored, I get dressed without and shower and go out and explore. One time I ventured to Fishers to find out what Fry's is all about. Well, when I got home from class last monday, I stripped down to my boxers and just vegged. I layed on my bed and watched tv and movies. I tend to be a lazy individual. So...this is my bliss!!!! I have done this for a couple of days straight at one point. It was during spring break of 2004. I went home to my mom's house and vegged out for about 7 days straight. My mom was in Florida visiting my grandmother at the time so I had the entire house to myself. What can I say...I'm a lazy bastard! lol. I'm not like this all the time. I do have drive and ambition. This is what I do to unwind.

What if reality

I took the question...".What if you were cereal?"

Well, I took a picture of cereal and photshopped mine and jerimiah's head onto a box of "reese's peanut butter puff's". I tend to think photoshop can make reality. I always like to take pictures of myself or my family and place them into pictures in a humorous fashion. Like I put my brother in law onto a bottle of scotch to make his very own brand of scotch lol. Well here is the picture of cereal I made. I also included a couple of other pictures I made that make everyday things into "Reality".

Also...another question was "What if we pooped from our mouths"...welll South Park isnt far off lol

Time...reflection

Last weeks class was an eye opener for me. It made me think back to my black and white photography portfolio that I made 2 years ago in the armpit of Indiana...which is also know at Evanville lol. I have at least four photos that represent time in a great way. They are on the blog post below this one. It got my creative juices flowing. After seeing Beth's art she made with simple photography, it really got me thinking. I felt like a moron after my presentation of time last week, so I made a repost on my blog of my photography.

Time revamp....

I really didn't think my submission wasn't really strong, so I decided to do another post for the hell of it.

Before I attended IUPUI, I went to The University of Southern Indiana. I was doing the same thing that I was doing here, but IUPUI has a way better program. Two of the classes I took were Photography and Advanced Photography. It wasn't digital at all. All the photos I processed were all from Black and White 35 mm film. I processed all the photos myself and mounted them. A couple pieces of my work reflected the concept of time. Here are some of them. (I scanned the images from there mount).

Here is a photo I took at a Carnaval in Evansville. I used high speed B & W Film.

I believe this picture stops time in it's tracks and suspends it to get a feel of what the little girl is feeling.

Here is a photo I took using the same high speed film. It's of a back alley in Evansville. Once Again...time is suspended. But...you can only see a blur where the people are. Time is suspended in this picture to get an essense of a lonely back alley.

My Last photo represents the suspension of time as well. You notice while time is suspended, the street remains the same as if it were timeless in a way. It's like the street moves and ages at a way slower pace than our preception of time.
